Dua Lipa, aka Dua English singer and songwriter who was born on 22 August 1995 in London United Kingdom. The model signed with Warner Bros Records after a several years of hard work. She released a self-titled first album in 2017. The album climbed up to the third position on the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released, among them Be the Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked at the number 6 spot within the United States. Lipa received the Brit Award in 2018 as a British Female Soloist as well as British Breakthrough Artist. The album has been certified platinum across a variety of countries. Dua Lipa was conceived at the age of 18 in London by Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa rexha (mother) and Dukagjin Lilipa (father). By virtue of her maternal grandmother, she has Bosnian descent. She can trace her ancestry back to Peja the city of Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. They have a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was influenced musically by her father who was the lead singer and guitarist of the Kosovan rock group Oda. At home, her father would play music from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began to sing at the age of six years old. She attended the Sylvia Young Theater School was where she started singing as she was nine years old. Lipa was featured on the hit song If I'm Goin' to You with Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released in august 2015.
