Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 - Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet neighborhood located in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The people who aren't familiar with this term frequently think that it's a separate island somewhere west of Montreal but in fact this part of West Island is home to all things from Lachine west to the City of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time there was short. Brugel developed on Courtice just outside Oshawa in Ontario. In her early years she wanted to be professional performer, however an unexpected increase in her height made it difficult. A Toronto Star article revealed she's six feet tall, with heels. When I grew out of my male dancers, I decided to quit. A lot of dancers go from dancing into acting. For the Brugel family, it was their drama instructor who pushed her in that direction. The teacher encouraged her to audition for a part in her school's production. It was her choice to take on the lead character in Anne of Green Gables after she had a go at. This led to her being awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship from York University. In 2000, she received her Master of Fine Arts at York University. Over the past 20 years, Brugel's roles on television and the big screen have been varied. Her role as Rita in the award-winning show The Handmaid's Tale was her most notable. Brugel was the only Canadian actor during Season 1 of the series, and not seen much.
